The youth development program aim is to increase priority for adolescents, and youth issues in national development policies and programmes particularly increased access to life skills education (LSE) and comprehensive sexuality education (CSE); as well as to youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services. 

More specifically to:

  • Enhance the policy and regulatory environment for adolescents and youth to benefit from quality sexual and reproductive health services;
  • Improve the policy environment for the design and implementation of LSE and CSE programmes based on human rights and gender equality; and
  • Strengthen national platforms for youth participation to ensure the voice of youth, particularly girls, in-laws, policies, and programmes.

Within the Youth Development Program, UNFPA implements several projects jointly with Government and private sectors.
