The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is an annual international campaign observed from November 25th (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to December 10th (Human Rights Day),highlighting violence against women and girls (VAWG) as a critical human rights issue. 

The 2024 campaign in Mongolia, themed “Women and Girls Are Safe Everywhere – #NoExcuse,” emphasized accountability, stronger legal frameworks, well-resourced strategies, improved GBV data collection for evidence-based decisions, and greater support for women’s rights initiatives. Building on the Beijing +30 review, it addressed both online and offline GBV, with particular attention to the rising concern of technology-facilitated GBV (TFGBV).

The campaign called for collective action to combat violence, empower survivors, and create safe environments for women and girls. By aligning global priorities with Mongolia’s context, it reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to gender equality and human rights, achieving broad engagement across sectors to advance progress against GBV.
