The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is an annual international campaign observed from November 25th (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to December 10th (Human Rights Day). This global initiative underscores the pervasive and egregious violation of human rights that is violence against women and girls. Originating from the inauguration of the Women's Global Leadership Institute in 1991, and has since mobilized individuals and organizations, including the United Nations and partners worldwide to advocate for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls (VAWG).
