In 2022, UNFPA Mongolia supported the local initiative to establish a Youth Development Centre in Sagsai soum of Bayan-Ulgii Province, providing it with technical guidance and equipment.
This support was embraced by the local administration, which put a lot of effort into developing the youth of soum, and has created a large centre with seven types of youth clubs.
We are certain that according to the soum's example, youth and young people in many regions of Mongolia will have the opportunity to develop themselves.
The provincial centre, Nogoonnuur and Bulgan soums of Bayan-Ulgii province have been selected as target sites of the “Accelerating the progress towards the elimination of preventable maternal and perinatal mortality” project, supported by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
The local authorities, specialists, doctors, teachers and youth of the province and soums met with the mission team to provide in-depth information on the current maternal and infant health situation, exchanged views on project activities and decided to establish a local project support working group.
